Kororaa Linux 16 : A Fedora-based Linux named "Chum" has been released

Chris Smart announced the availability of Kororaa Linux 16 which code name is "Chum" on 16 Dec,2011. The Kororaa is originally based on Gentoo Linux but after 2010 it is based on Fedora Linux. The main aim of this Linux is to provide the easiness and user-friendly packages.

This version is available in KDE 4.7 and GNOME 3.2. It also adds third party repositories like RPMfusion, adobe, chrome, virtualbox. Firefox 8 is the default browser adn comes with some in-built add-ons like DownThemAll, Flashblock, Xclear etc. It also includes microblogging client, multimedia support, video editor, VLC player and many more.

Pear OS Linux version 3.0 named "Panther" has been released

The Pear OS linux is from France and it is purely based on Ubuntu and Debian. It design and look is mixture of Ubuntu and MAC OS X. The login screen, top panel and window are look like Ubuntu and the Dock at bottom gives you the taste of MAC OS X.





David Tavares has announced the version 3.0 named "Panther" of Pear OS on 14 Dec,2011. It is available on both 32-bit and 64-bit on Sourceforge.  The MAC like view of this OS gives easiness to the endusers. And it supports many populer media codecs as it liked by the people which use multimedia application.

CentOS 6.1 has been released

On 9th Dec,2011, the team of the Community Enterprise Operating System [CentOS] team announced the availability of CentOS 6.1 in both architecture 32-bit[i386] and 64-bit[x86_64]. The CentOS is originally based on Fedora and available with many packages in their repositories. It is totally based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux so if you are in search of enterprise operating system then the CentOS is the best choice.



As it is based on EL 6.1 and contain packages from all variants. And all upstream repositories have been combined into one repository so it make easier to work for users. They recommend to use Candidate Release repository for more bug-fixes and security updates.

Ubuntu 12.04 'Precise Pangolin' alpha 1 has been released

Ubuntu 12.04 named 'Precise Pangolin' has been released on 1st Dec,2011. This time Ubuntu 12.04 is based on Linux Kernel 3.2.0 relaese candidate 3. There are many more changes are done in the Ubuntu 12.04. It also support for APLS touchpads.










 Now next step is to see weather the unity interface take Ubuntu 12.04 upside or downside? In this alpha version many bug fixes are done and hence they try to make 'Precise Pangolin' more precise and flawless.The next version Ubuntu 12.04 alpha 2 will be release on 2nd Feb,2011.
